R.I.P. Karen

Today is a sad day...Kennedy's paternal grandmother passed away very unexpectedly at the young age of 47. Today I will hug my own mom a little tighter and let her know that I really do appreciate her....because you never know when the ones you love won't be around for you to tell them. Also, if I have learned anything from her passing.....women, we HAVE to take control of our own health! Us.....not our boyfriends/husbands, not even the doctors. Not to go into great detail, but I strongly feel that she was misdiagnosed and actually died from heart disease....really won't know until the reports come back. There has been more information in the news and current headlines that heart disease is the number #1 killer for women and is often misdiagnosed and even overlooked. Please educate yourself and other women you love....be persistent about getting more tests done even if previous tests come back normal!! It is up to us!!

What better way to wake up, then to be wrapped up in the arms of my sweet baby girl :) I love waking up to a foot in my face or a little hand tapping me (rather un-gently) demanding that I wake up. "Mommy get out...get up mommy.." Very bossy she is....wonder where she gets it from :)

Introducing...Kennedy Nicole

Since this blog is mostly about my daugher Kennedy (aka Pinky Toe), I figured I would introduce you to her...

Kennedy Nicole....she is my only child, the love of my life, my greatest accomplishment thus far. I love her to pieces...I never wanted kids until I had her and now I can't imagine life without her. She is a spunky, energetic, bubbly, sassy, sugar and spice and everything nice, 2 yr old little girl with a fantastic personality (given that she has been fed and had a nap) . She says the funniest things (and I'm not just saying this because I'm her mother) but there are several times during the day that I will just crack up thinking about something she's said (where does she get this stuff from??) Sometimes I just sit and stare at her in amazement like "look at what I created" (okay, her dad helped too) I have the best time just hanging out with her and seeing the world through her eyes....she has changed my life completely and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Instead of going through a long description of her 2 years of life, I figured I would show u her life in pictures...man, it was super tough just picking out a few. I had a great time looking through pictures and looking at how she's changed so much in just a few years...

*I realize that I have the pictures backwards...starting from the present day instead of the beginning, but oh well...I'm still getting the hang of this blogging thing*

Seriously? Does the world need another mommy blog??

So recently, my work spouse (I'll explain later-hey NK, I know you're reading!) introduced me to blog reading which has become my latest addiction (like seriously, is there a support group?)...so since I've been stalking other people's blogs, I've been thinking for awhile about starting one of my own....but between Facebook, Twitter, and blog reading, I wasn't sure if I would have the time :) Oh yeah, and working full-time. Well last night as I was getting Pinky Toe ready for bed (we've recently starting saying bedtime prayers) her prayer went something like this "Now I way me, down to sweep, I pray the lord, my toes to keep...Amen" She was so very sincere with it and I was trying so hard not to laugh, but I thought it was the funniest, yet sweetest prayer I'd heard. She was so proud of saying her "toe prayer"...looking to me for approval and it really got me to thinking about how fast my sweetpea is growing up. Before I became a mother and I heard people say "oh, they grow up so fast" I used to think to myself..."what lies! it took me forever to grow up!" Now I know what they meant and I just want to cherish these innocent moments with her (before those terrible teenage years kick in :(

So while the world might not need another mommy blog...too bad! I need it :)
